General Meeting
To open the meeting, Crystal Marcum and her staff at FC Elementary School will present the Ali Sharp Award to 12 FC Elementary students in recognition of their academic achievement and/or good behavior. Ali Sharp was a kindergarten teacher at FC Elementary who had been working with other school faculty to recognize individual students at the school for their efforts whether it be academics and/or behavior. Ms. Sharp passed away unexpectedly at the end of 2012. To recognize her own efforts and to commemorate her memory, the award has been named in her honor. The awards will be passed out, 2 per grade, at the monthly FCTH general meetings beginning in February and ending with the school year in May.
Eden Slater from the City of Knoxville's Office of Neighborhoods will present information on a new pilot program, Neighborhood Disaster Preparedness Program (NDPP). This program, per the City's web site, "enables resident-led neighborhood groups to develop and test neighborhood-level emergency preparedness plans, equipping them with the skills they need to act as effective first responders if prefession emergecny personnel cannot reach the scene."
